INTRODUCTION

At the initial stage after the announcement of our testnet, we have been organizing a series of hackathons to incentivize future development, to help grow our community, to have some competitive fun, and also as an open source community for independent developers to help each other in experimenting with Dojima Network.

Developers are already creating new and exciting dApps on the Dojima platform.

In this article, we will introduce Team Mental Blocks, one of the teams that participated in our last hackathon at IIT Delhi, and showcased their amazing project.

Team Mental blocks analyzes the existing traditional voting system and explores the main problems associated with its functioning. Hence, results showed that the existing traditional voting system has security and other problems and needs to be upgraded using blockchain technology.

By allowing for the continued use of the traditional voting system, it is much too easy for corruption to occur, resulting in the people’s voice not being clearly heard, or drowned out entirely by fraud.

On this premise, Team Mental Blocks aims to create an innovative, decentralized, tamper-proof voting system using blockchain technology.

Mental Blocks believes that the transition to blockchain voting in elections is necessary, which provides a new system of trust and security for the user and the government and helps to solve the problems bedeviling the traditional voting system.

ABOUT MENTAL BLOCKS VOTING DAPPS

Voting DApps are blockchain platforms that provide secure and transparent elections and reduce fraud risks, costs and time wastage.

Voting Dapps may offer real-time results and have the potential to revolutionize elections, enhancing accessibility, security, and democracy.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

We shall take a look at some of the shortcomings of the current traditional voting systems.

⏣ Current voting systems lack transparency, security, and trust. (multiple cases of EVM tampering).

⏣ Voters apathy and decreased public trust in democratic processes.

⏣ There are high costs and logistical challenges associated with traditional voting methods.

⏣ The traditional voting system can easily be manipulated and results falsified.

⏣ It is time-consuming.

SOLUTION PROPOSED

Mental Blocks believe that leveraging Dojima Network to create a decentralized platform where each vote is recorded as a transaction on a block can help curb the problems encountered in the centralized traditional voting system.

Bocks are linked together in a chain, thereby creating a tamper-proof ledger that cannot be modified without detection.

ROLE OF DOJIMA NETWORK

Dojima Network will enable cross-chain interoperability.

● It will help leverage multiple blockchains for identity.

verification and voting data storage.

● It will also ensure security, transparency, and trust.

Mental blocks Current Smart Contract

Mental block Team has created a smart contract in Dojima Network, which allows users to vote for a candidate, also it is storing the counts of votes of candidates. As of now, we have the admin which can initiate the smart contracts and it has the power to stop the contract if it has detected any suspicious activity. Our contract has already been migrated and can easily be deployed on the dojima network.

PRODUCT (Trust Vote Tab (TVT)

Trust Vote Tab (TVT), each TVT will have it’s own unique ID (64 characters), which will be kept at a designated polling booth.

The tab will have a fingerprint sensor, in addition to which the Voter ID card will have unique magnetic signatures(NFCs) which will be acting as a physical key for the tablet.

The NFC will ensure reading and writing that your vote has been casted.

How it works

❖ Candidate cast their votes using the tablet. The polling booth’s unique ID will be encrypted along with the voter ID(using encryption algorithms like sha256)

❖ Service calls will be made to our blockchain and autonomous data warehouse.

❖ Blockchain tracks the vote and stores transaction details

❖ Autonomous data warehouse stores the vote data, including which party or candidate received what number of votes

❖ Live results are displayed in real-time on a separate portal, which updates with every new vote.

❖ The system keeps track of which voter ID has already cast a vote

❖ If a voter ID attempts to cast another vote, the server runs a validation algorithm.

❖ Counterfeit votes are rejected and not counted in the final result.

DEPLOYMENT STAGES

1.Voter Registration:

It Creates a temper_proof record of each voter’s registration status using block chain.

2.Verification:

Biometrics or digital signature can be used to authenticate each voter’s identity

3.Casting of Votes:

Blockchain technology can create a temper_proof, immutable record of each vote on a secure voting platform.

4.Counting of Votes:

Blockchain technology can automatically count votes in the web3 cross _network voting mechanism.

5.Accessibility:

It also allows underprivileged people to vote remotely on a safe platform and makes voting more accessible to eligible voters.

6.Speed and Efficiency:

Automated vote counting in real_time or near_real_time reduces election results announcement time.

CROSS CHAINS BENEFITS of Mental Blocks Voting Dapps

1.It reduces election costs.

2. No polling stations needed.

3. Reduce the need for printing ballot papers and voter lists.

3. Automates election process, reduces officials and volunteers.

4. Reduces the need for transportation and related costs.

5. Voting Dapps will enable secure, transparent, and decentralized voting systems.

6. An additional benefit of such a system is the ability of voters, the elderly, and people with disabilities to vote at any time and anywhere using blockchain technology.

CONCLUSION

To eliminate the problems caused by the use of paper ballots and to integrate safety policies designed to root out fraud and corruption while ensuring security, transparenty, and trust, blockchain technology must be implemented. Instead of paper, this system would display ballots on a video screen. The voter would be able to access help screens by simply clicking on the TVT button, and data entry validation would ensure that all necessary ballot fields were entered correctly, thereby eliminating data entry failures or votes being lost due to illegible handwriting or mistakes.

In the future, the Mental block voting tab can prove to be more versatile in terms of mobility and easier to set up. As this will allow the governments to collect votes from areas that have low vote count due to their location, and ability to collect votes.

This will resolve the issue of low vote count and will cost less as the only device required to complete the voting process is just a tab.
