DOJIMA HACKATHON x TEAM QUESTIFY

1_MDpQu-fSsr-SYihCggMX9g

There are numerous centralised Q&A platforms available today, but they all share the problem of being completely owned and controlled by a single entity. As a result, users are unable to claim complete ownership or credit for their content. Furthermore, people would have a difficult time receiving reliable answers to questions about some less popular topics. Decentralization aids in overcoming this problem by constructing a secure, completely transparent, and trustless platform.

There is oftentimes a disconnect between what a user community requires and what a company requires to stay in business. The “free” sites accomplish this by making the user the product, thereby creating a customer who is purchasing advertising. That’s fine, but don’t think for a second that anyone running such a site is doing anything for the benefit of the users unless it coincides with the company’s mission to increase traffic, page views, and ad-seers; if they’re remotely social, it’s an accident.

As part of our initiative to pull in a larger number of innovative BUIDLs, we have been organising a series of hackathons to onboard teams of developers into the Dojima ecosystem, and we would like to introduce Team Questify, one of the teams that caught our attention at the IIT Delhi Hackathon that showcased their innovative project using blockchain to solve current Q&A centralized platforms.

ABOUT QUESTIFY

Questify is a decentralized platform built using blockchain technology, ensuring safe, transparent, and secure operations. But most importantly, the platform has a game-changing feature that allows every user to earn blockchain tokens by answering questions and contributing to the platform.

QUESTION/PROBLEM

Let’s say I’m an aspirant preparing for a competitive examination or I’m a student preparing for my mid-semester examinations. What if I have a doubt? It’s a situation which occurs almost daily for all the students. So what are my options?

Go to StackExchange and write a question. (Pause) Maybe not the best idea.

You would have likely faced a similar scenario when posting a doubt on StackExchange. The speed at which my question gets closed is faster than my internet. It is commonly accepted that sites like StackExchange are toxic to beginners and definitely of minimal use to students preparing for competitive exams. You can’t ask particular questions without your question having been closed as a homework question.

Why Does This Happen?

The reason why this happens is simple. There is no incentive model, the community can only accept and answer several questions and thus they need very strict regulations to ensure that their platform is not flooded by questions. So then what are your other alternatives?

What Options do you have left?

CHENG?

CHENG? You need to purchase their monthly subscriptions whether or not you even utilize them and it is too costly

What options are you left with?

CHENG

QUORA

QUORA? Not a good platform to be able to ask hard questions, especially those involving mathematics. Also, the response time is very slow and the answer quality is not that great.

What options are you left with?

CHENG

QUORA

WHATSAPP

Spam all your friends and seniors on WhatsApp? Well other than getting blocked there ought to be a better than that.

SOLUTION

That’s where there arises a need to have a decentralized platform for asking questions and answers which works on an incentive model and is not controlled by any single centralized entity.

Questify allows users to ask questions in a variety of domains and receive answers from the community. Platform users can post questions, answer questions, and receive rewards for their contributions. It employs an incentivization strategy to maintain content quality, and the presence of gas fees discourages spammers. Each user is eligible to receive points for the answers they post in the forum. It encourages other users to respond with higher-quality answers, which increases the platform’s usefulness.

HOW QUESTIFY IS DOING IT

1. Incentivize People to answer questions through crypto bounties.

Questify incentivizes people to answer questions through crypto bounties. When posting a question a bounty amount is decided by you using a cryptocurrency of your choice which is then deduced from your met mask wallet and stored as escrow in a smart contract wallet. This bounty amount is credited to the person who answers the question correctly as determined by the creator of the question or the community. Now if I’m a student at IITD and want to make some money in my free time? I can help jee aspirants by answering their questions

2. Incentivize Communities

When the bounty amount is decided 10% of it is deducted, of which 5% goes to a pool and the remaining 5% is deducted as a platform fee.

The pool amount is used to incentivize the community to vote on questions and to moderate quality – but not restrict the type of questions.

What token should the bounty amount be in?

Now let’s say I am a user who wants to ask a question about irodov. I want a correct and helpful response as fast as possible to my question but I don’t know which token as a bounty would attract the answerers the most and why should I even care about it.

WHY QUESTIFY IS UNIQUE

If you take a look at the most popular Q&A platforms, like Quora and Stack Overflow, you’ll see that all user-generated content is in the hands of a single organization. If the website shuts down for any reason, years of knowledge are lost. The flip side of the coin with shared knowledge concentrated in one place is intensifying control. Censorship and moderation can affect the quality of the content, as well as users who abuse a platforms’ link policies for promotional purposes rather than sharing knowledge.

QUESTIFY leverages Dojima cross chain infrastructure to create a decentralized application, where all the data is immutable, public, and owned by the community. All digital records are guarded by cryptography that can limit and log who makes changes or additions. The economic model of this project gives ownership of the content to the users of the platform and financially rewards those who help questify find their answers. Rather than just gaining a reputation, likes on their posts, or the warm and fuzzy feeling of helping others, Questify users receive real-life, tangible, valuable rewards for their contributions in the form of tokens.

DOJIMA NETWORK AND QUESTIFY

Now, this is where the Dojima Network comes to the rescue. As a person who is asking the question, I can set up the bounty amount in any cryptocurrency I want to without caring about the hassle of my question not doing well. And as a person who is solving the question I can get the bounty amount in any cryptocurrency that I want. This is only possible with the help of dojima network which allows us to access liquidity across different blockchains and allows us to swap tokens without the end users having to care about it at all. The end users can set their preferred cryptocurrency on their profile and will view and receive all the bounties in that particular cryptocurrency.

FUTURE PLANS

Questify sees a future in which people who contribute their knowledge are rewarded fairly depending on how valuable their contribution is.”

As long as the Internet exists, the information on the Questify Q&A platform will never be lost and its contributors can be sure that they will always get paid for their content. What’s more, The Questify-powered incentivization strategy ensures that the users who contribute the most to the platform will receive the highest dividends in the future. Because the true value of a token is determined by how many people participate, blockchain is an elegant solution to the engagement and relevance problem. It is in questify’s best interests to succeed and make a name for itself. The investment will keep people motivated to create value and maintain communities.
